Incentives & Programs

Electric vehicle adoption is rapidly accelerating in New York – as many as three million electric vehicles (EVs) are expected to be on the road statewide by 2030. As more drivers make the switch to EVs, deploying charging infrastructure to match demand is essential.

Charge Ready 2.0 Rebate (NYSERDA)

The Charge Ready NY 2.0 program, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), offers rebates to public, private, and not-for-profit organizations that install Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at workplaces, multi-unit dwellings (MUDs), or hotels and motels. The program aims to accelerate the deployment of EV charging infrastructure across New York State.

Funding to Install Workplace, Multifamily, and Hotel Charging Stations

Bring new customers to your business, attract and retain employees and tenants, and do your part to make New York State’s environment cleaner by installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

Charge Ready NY 2.0 offers rebates to public, private, and not-for-profit organizations that install Level 2 EV charging stations at workplaces, multi-unit dwellings (multifamily properties), or hotels and motels. Level 2 stations typically provide up to 25 miles of electric range for each hour of charging, making them ideal for locations where drivers park for multiple hours.

NYSERDA provides rebates on a per-port basis.

Joint Utilities EV Make-Ready Rebate (NYSEG, National Grid, RG&E)

The Electric Vehicle (EV) Make-Ready Program aims to accelerate the deployment of EV charging infrastructure, both Level 2 (L2) and Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC), by lowering the upfront cost of site preparation. It supports New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) targets, including the goal of having 850,000 zero-emission vehicles on the road by 2025.

Reduce the cost of installing Level 2 (L2) or DC Fast Charging (DCFC) stations while attracting more customers to your business. Develop a plan to transition your light-, medium-, or heavy-duty fleet vehicles to electric alternatives and gain a clear view of the potential cost savings. For medium- and heavy-duty fleets, you can also access dedicated funding to support vehicle electrification and charger installation.
